The chart below is a typical generic chart. Brands differ by an inch or a few pounds, so use it to narrow down your size, then check the brand’s own chart.
How the wetsuit calculator works
WetsuitSizeCalc compares your height and weight with each size in a generic men’s or women’s chart. A size scores zero when you are inside both its height and weight range; otherwise it scores the inches you are outside the height range plus the pounds outside the weight range divided by five. The lowest score wins, with ties going to the size whose range middles are closest to you, and the runner-up is shown as an alternative. For thickness it takes the water temperature, subtracts 6 °F if you dive and 4 °F if you run cold, and looks it up in the temperature chart.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between MT and M?
MT (medium tall) is cut longer in the torso, arms and legs for taller people of a medium build.
Are wetsuit sizes the same as clothing sizes?
Not exactly. A wetsuit is sized much tighter than clothing, so go by the height and weight chart.
Do wetsuits stretch?
Neoprene softens and gives a little with use, but a suit that is too small when dry will not stretch to fit.
Is WetsuitSizeCalc free?
Yes, with no sign-up or ads, and your measurements stay in your browser.
Is this chart the same for every brand?
No. It is a typical generic chart. Brands vary, so confirm with the maker’s chart, and try a suit on if you can.
